Friends and family have told me for a long time that I should start a blog to document and share all my random projects and life hacks. I’ve long resisted since I consider myself a pretty terrible writer and was just generally embarrassed by the idea of starting a blog. However, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, I finally convinced myself to do it – partly because I have a little free time now that I don’t sit in DC/VA traffic on a daily basis and because I think the world needs some ways to channel all the nervous and anxious energy that comes from living in these times. And so begins our 100 little projects journey.
I’m starting this blog on May 14th and will be planning to post 100 projects before May 14th 2021 – for those that don’t know me too well, May 14th is my moms birthday and I’m pretty sure she’d be proud to see that I’m still crafting and that I’m attempting to write. Each year on May 14th, I like to do a project that honors my mom and documenting my “little projects” here seems like a good tribute.
For each post, I’m going to share a project and give a few details or thoughts on what went well or not so well (in fact, I’m sitting here now realizing I needed better gloves when I did my tie dye project earlier this week – more on that later). I’ll also share some life tidbits – fun or messy elements of my own life and maybe some little things I’m really loving to listen to or use around the house right now. And finally, I’ll try to be a little vulnerable (even if it feels awkward) and share the ways these projects have helped me combat my own grief and anxiety.
If you decide to do any of the projects, I’d love to hear from you and see photos of how it is going. If you have a project idea, submit it to me or volunteer to guest write a project. I already have some ladies in mind to help write a post on embroidery (I’m looking at you Book Club Crew), baking, and planting a garden. If you decide to post a photo of your project on instagram, use the hashtag #100littleprojects and tag @100littleprojects.
Let’s get this started!

Eileen – I am not much of a crafty person but I am looking forward to see what you do. I think it is cool what your doing. Good luck and look forward to watching your journey this into your blogging!!
